CTT and Dott are partners at the Sernancelhe Digital Chestnut Fair

CTT – Correios de Portugal and Dott are partners at the Sernancelhe Chestnut Fair. This year the fair will be digital, at the Dott platform, and CTT will be liable for the deliveries.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the current pandemics, that limit traditional events, the traditional fair will not be possible. However, with this CTT and Dott partnership, the Chestnut Fair will have a new format but maintaining the event’s identity, the cultural essence and the promotion of its products, producers and the brand Sernancelhe Terra da Castanha.

The project Mercado Terra da Castanha is a partnership between CTT and the Dott platform, the major online shopping in Portugal, and will boost chestnut sales. It will run as of October 23rd, but there are pre-sales as of October 19th in https://dott.pt/pt/campaign/festa-da-castanha-sernancelhe.

The main purpose is to help the chestnut producers sell their product in these difficult times. The Dott customers will be able to buy chestnuts in 2 kg and 5 kg boxes, and receive them comfortably and home with the help of CTT.

With no physical event, Terra da Castanha will bring its excellent product to all Portuguese people with safety, quality and also some surprises. The Terra da Castanha boxes have more than just high quality chestnuts. Inside there is a marking sensorial experience, with a book of suggestions on what to visit in Sernancelhe, its history and heritage, a description of the Chestnut Route and some information on restaurants and hotels. The book contains restaurant and hotel vouchers, valid for 6 months, with special discounts for the Sernancelhe visitors.

Although a special edition, with a digital agenda, this Chestnut Fair will be a unique experience for the thousands of people that live such an important yearly event in this region.

CTT will be liable for the logistics and delivery of the products, aware of their role in the maintenance of communication and logistics chains, vital for the Portuguese economy and society. This role is also reinforced in the current context by supporting the presence of companies in the digital channels through the CTT’s solutions and services’ offer.
