On June 12^Th, CTT’s 1520 StartUProgram had the chance to attend and evaluate the pitch of a fresh batch of selected startups on TÉCNICO’s College JUNITEC’s annual demo day, a.k.a Unicorn Day. By sponsoring the event, CTT’s invested in the opportunity to support an initiative that gathers an impressive number of fresh college projects, among other solutions.

Born out of the ambition of creating a large-scale Demo Day in Portugal ( close to 30 pitches ) the event gave us the chance to hear pitches from startups impacting the industry, fintech and tourism sectors, as well as startups supported by JUNITEC’s Innovation Hub.

 Founded on  1990, JUNITEC builds the bridge between the student community of TÉCNICO’s College and the portuguese business comunity. Throughout its existence, it has been recognized with several national and international awards for the various engineering projects it has developed, and is the current holder of JE Europe’s international award for “Europe’s Most Promising Junior Enterprise” 2021.
